Mark Mittelberg

Mark Mittelberg is an international speaker and best-selling author of nearly 30 books and published pieces, focusing in the areas of apologetics, evangelism, and evangelistic leadership. His most recent is Contagious Faith: Discover Your Natural Style for Sharing Jesus with Others, and the 6-week video training course by the same name. Prior to that he was the primary author of the celebrated Becoming a Contagious Christian training course (with Lee Strobel). This course was translated into 20 languages and helped 2 million people around the globe learn to share Christ in natural ways. He also wrote the leadership-oriented, Becoming a Contagious Church.

Mark’s other books include The Unexpected Adventure and The Case for Christ Daily Moment of Truth devotional (both with Strobel); The Questions Christians Hope No One Will Ask (With Answers), winner of the Retailers Choice Award; Confident Faith, winner of Outreach Magazine’s Apologetics Book of the Year; and his evangelistic book, The Reason Why Faith Makes Sense. His published pieces have sold 3 million copies.

Mark was the original evangelism director at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, and then served as Executive Vice President of the Willow Creek Association, serving more than 10,000 churches from over 100 denominations from all around the world. He has been the primary evangelism trainer for the Luis Palau Association for 25 years, equipping thousands of believers in regional training gatherings prior to their CityFest events around the country, and he’s been a speaker for Summit Ministries for the last 15 years, teaching thousands of students at their worldview conferences. Mark was also an editorial consultant and periodic guest for Lee Strobel’s television show, Faith Under Fire. He has appeared on numerous national television and radio programs.

Mark earned an MA in Philosophy of Religion, graduating magna cum laude from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. He also received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina. He and Heidi live near Denver, Colorado, and are parents to Emma Jean and Matthew Mittelberg.
