Dear Friends of C S Lewis Society,

We are so grateful that our first C.S. Lewis Summer Honors Seminar was a huge success--our thanks to all who helped!   A flock of outstanding students enjoyed our Seminar, "Knowing God in a Skeptical Age," including a US Airways pilot, a local math professor, and a senior in biomedical science at a secular university.  Now we are preparing for campus outreaches in Florida and North Carolina, and for the exciting Tampa Bay Simulcast, "Science and Faith: Are They in Conflict?" on September 21.

Drs. Lennox and Meyer are fantastic speakers who will tackle key questions that often dominate the faith vs. science debate.  Has science disproved God? Or do new scientific discoveries actually provide compelling support for faith?

According to a recent survey, 55% of American adults believe that science and religion are often in conflict.  This same attitude can be found among young adults. Nearly a third of young adults with a Christian background say "churches are out of step with the scientific world we live in," and a quarter of them think "Christianity is anti-science."

The simulcast will address these questions and show the elegant fit between science and Christianity.  Featured speakers are renowned Oxford University Professor John Lennox andNew York Times bestselling author Stephen Meyer, two leading speakers and writers on the intersection between science and faith. The emcee is bestselling author Eric Metaxas, whose biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and courageous presentation at the National Prayer Breakfast brought international acclaim.

In short, this international simulcast is a major event! It will provide powerful help for parents and students in middle school, high school, and college.   High school and college ministries should not miss it, and Christian school and home school students will enjoy an unforgettable experience.
Please help us by forwarding this email to church leaders and members.  The simulcast will present scientific discoveries that provide compelling support for faith in God.  If you have neighbors or friends who are seeking the truth about God, this is a perfect opportunity to invite them to hear of the Creator's signature in nature--now visible to all with an open heart and mind.

Questions to be addressed during the simulcast include:
* Has science disproved God?
* Are science and faith really in conflict?
* Just how "scientific" are the claims of leading atheists?
* Are human beings the result of an unguided Darwinian process?
* Does nature supply evidence of intelligent design?

For information on the speakers, see the insert below.

We hope to see you at the simulcast in Tampa, or hear reports as you attend a showing in your area of the country!

Please also be in prayer for Normandy and me as final plans are being made for ministry trips to Colombia, Japan, and England.

Serving Him with you,

Tom and Normandy Woodward
